Overworld (temperate)
Sandy strips where the mainland meets the ocean. Beaches are the only place turtles spawn, and the best hunting ground for buried treasure and stranded shipwrecks.
Resources
- Sand in unlimited quantities for glass and TNT
- Buried treasure chests (diamonds, iron, gold and the heart of the sea)
- Stranded shipwrecks with loot and treasure maps
- Sugar cane along the waterline
Mobs
- Turtles - the only passive mob that spawns on beaches
- Standard hostile mobs at night
- Drowned in the shallow water

- Buried treasure (always under sand or gravel, marked X on treasure maps)
- Shipwrecks beached on the sand
Why go
- Turtle breeding for scutes and the turtle master potion
- Buried treasure holds the heart of the sea and other loot
- Flat, open building space with ocean views
Tips
- Treasure maps come from shipwreck map chests - the red X is precise, dig straight down on it.
- Turtles only lay eggs on their home beach, so breed them where you found them or move the eggs with Silk Touch.
- Bring a shovel: buried treasure hides several blocks deep in sand.
