Snowy Taiga
Overworld (cold)
A snow-covered forest of spruce trees, ferns and sweet berry bushes. Exposed water freezes to ice, and the local wildlife - snow foxes, ashen wolves and cold-variant farm animals - is unique to the frozen biomes.

Resources
- Spruce wood in abundance
- Sweet berries from scattered bushes
- Snow and ice everywhere - free building and water-transport material
- Igloo basements: brewing stand, cauldron and a weakness-potion setup for curing zombie villagers
Mobs
- Snow foxes (white fox variant), ashen wolves and rabbits
- Cold variants of chickens, pigs and cows; sheep too
- Standard hostile mobs at night
Structures
- Igloos (some with the zombie-villager basement)
- Trail ruins
- Villages and pillager outposts - Bedrock Edition only
- Abandoned camps sometimes generate here (Java 26.3)
Why go
- Best fox-taming biome: wild snow foxes for a white pet
- Ashen wolf variant spawns here for collectors
- Igloo basements are the cheapest villager-curing kit in the game
- Unlimited snow and ice for builds and fast boat roads
Tips
- Any water you place outdoors freezes - light up and roof farms, or build them below ground.
- Snow layers pile up during snowfall; bring a shovel and use torches or slabs to keep paths clear.
- In Bedrock, snowy taiga villages have snow-covered roofs and frozen crop farms - the crops uproot, so replant indoors.
