Sparse Jungle
Overworld (lush)
The gentler edge of the jungle: bright green open ground with scattered small jungle trees, jungle bushes and melon patches. It usually wraps around real jungles, separated by rivers, and feels like a lush plains with tropical guests.

Resources
- Melons growing wild in patches
- Jungle wood and cocoa-free jungle bushes (small trees only, no bamboo here)
- Vines, ferns and bright green grass for tropical builds
Mobs
- Rusty wolves - this reddish wolf variant is unique to the sparse jungle
- Warm animal variants (warm pigs, cows and chickens)
- Bedrock only: ocelots, parrots and pandas, just like the full jungle
- Standard hostile mobs at night
Structures
- Abandoned camps sometimes generate here
- No jungle pyramids generate here
Why go
- Tame a rusty wolf, one of the rarer wolf variants
- Free melon patches for an early food and trading crop
- Jungle wood without fighting through a full jungle's density
- Flat-ish, pretty building terrain right next to jungle resources
Tips
- Rivers usually split sparse jungle from the real jungle - follow one if you keep losing the dense biome
- Look up: lush caves can generate underneath thanks to the biome's humidity
- Bedrock players can ranch parrots and pandas here without entering the thick jungle
- Bring bones: rusty wolves spawn in packs and tame like any wolf
