Windswept Forest
Overworld (temperate)
The wooded cousin of the windswept hills: the same steep, rugged peaks, but covered with spruce and oak trees. One of the few biomes with emerald ore - and abandoned camps hidden between the cliffs.

Resources
- Spruce and oak wood from the sparse mountain forest
- Emerald ore and extra coal and iron at high altitude
- Abandoned camp loot when one generates
- Infested stone underground (watch for silverfish)
Mobs
- Llamas in herds on the slopes
- Sheep plus cold-variant pigs, cows and chickens
- Standard hostile mobs at night; silverfish from infested stone
Structures
- Abandoned camps sometimes generate here
- Lush caves underneath in humid areas, dripstone caves further inland
Why go
- Emerald ore hunting with wood on hand, unlike the barren windswept hills
- Abandoned camps and dramatic cliff-and-forest scenery
Tips
- Snow covers the ground above roughly Y=120, so high camps freeze over.
- Lush caves love this biome's humidity: dig down under one for glow berries and clay.
