Windswept Gravelly Hills
Overworld (temperate)
A relatively rare surface biome in the Overworld. Windswept hills whose top layers have collapsed into gravel, with floating islands and almost no vegetation.

Resources
- Endless gravel for flint, arrows and concrete powder
- Emerald ore (rarely exposed - the gravel hides it)
- Coal and iron ore at high altitude
- Snow above Y=120 for snow farms
Mobs
- Llama herds roaming the gravel
- Sheep and cold-variant pigs, cows and chickens
- Standard hostile mobs at night; silverfish in infested stone
Structures
- No structures generate here - just raw, shattered terrain
Why go
- Bragging rights: a relatively rare overworld surface biome
- Bulk gravel without mining beaches or oceans
- Spectacular floating islands for sky builds
Tips
- In Java a few spruce and oak trees still generate; in Bedrock the biome is 100% treeless, so bring wood.
- Gravel falls: never dig straight up, and watch for collapses when you punch out a support block.
- Above about Y=120 rain turns to snow and water freezes - plan farms accordingly.
