Quick answer: Sets the target on fire on hit: 4 seconds per level (Fire Aspect II = 8 seconds). Burning animals drop cooked meat, and in Bedrock it also lights unlit candles, campfires and TNT when you hit them.

Swords (and maces in Java 1.21+).
How to get Fire Aspect
- Enchanting table (both levels)
- Enchanted books from loot chests, fishing, librarian villagers and bartering
- Combine in an anvil
Best uses
Great on a mob-farm sword for auto-cooked meat. Skip it against endermen - fire makes them teleport constantly - and remember most Nether mobs are immune to fire.
