Glow Berry Farm (Cave Vines)

Produces: Glow berries - a food that lights its own farm, for eating, fox breeding and decoration
Quick answer: Plant glow berries under a block and the cave vine grows downward - each new segment has an 11% chance to bear berries. Bone meal on any vine segment makes it bear berries instantly, which is the whole farm.
How it works
- Cave vines grow downward from the underside of a block with a 10% chance per random tick (about 11.4 minutes per segment on average) until they reach the floor.
- Each newly grown segment has an 11% chance to bear berries - and existing segments NEVER grow berries on their own (unlike sweet berry bushes).
- Bone meal on any vine segment makes it bear berries if it has none (it does not grow a new segment); bees carrying pollen also fertilize it.
- Berry-bearing vines give off light level 14: the farm lights itself while it grows.
- Pressing use on a berry-bearing vine gives one unit without breaking it; breaking it also gives one unit and Fortune does not affect it.
- Find your first glow berries hanging from lush caves ceilings.

- Any solid block with a flat underside to hang vines from
- Bone meal (pair with a moss-composter loop for unlimited supply)

Build steps
- Explore a lush cave and pick glow berries from the cave vines on the ceiling.
- At home, place berries under a row of blocks - each becomes a vine growing downward.
- Wait for the vines to lengthen - or skip the wait entirely: bone meal any segment and it bears berries now.
- Harvest with the use key; the vine stays.
- Apply bone meal to segments without berries to force berries; a dispenser can automate it.
- Place berries under any block with a full bottom face to expand the farm.
Rates
A dispenser fed one bone meal per click produces one berry per click - with a bone meal farm behind it, glow berries are effectively unlimited; natural growth alone trickles a berry segment per vine every ~100 minutes.

- Berry-bearing vines give light level 14: functional lighting.
- Glow berries reduce a baby fox's time to grow up by 10%.
- Vines are climbable: a column is a ladder that feeds you.
- Each berry restores 2 hunger; in a composter they have a 30% chance to raise the level.
