Hoglin Farm (Porkchops)

Intermediate Java + Bedrock

Produces: Raw or cooked porkchops and leather - the Nether's answer to the cow farm

Quick answer: Hoglins breed with crimson fungi and drop 2-4 porkchops each. Pen a herd in a crimson forest, breed with fungi, and drive the adults to a lava blade - cooked porkchops straight from the Nether.

How it works

Materials

Build steps

  1. Find a herd in a crimson forest and fence it, or lead two hoglins home with a lead.
  2. Feed each a crimson fungus to lock them against despawn, then breed the pair.
  3. Build the pen so one corridor, lined with potted warped fungi, leads to the kill chamber - they run from the fungus straight into it.
  4. Cull adults with a lava blade or fall damage; burning kills deliver cooked porkchops automatically.
  5. Re-breed every 5 minutes and fungus-feed the babies to speed the cycle.
  6. Keep the farm away from your portal: hoglins will not come near it, which breaks the drive corridor.

Rates

A modest 6-adult herd with regular breeding yields stacks of porkchops per play session - with Looting III and a fire kill, about 4-7 cooked porkchops per hoglin.
