Piglin Bartering Farm

Intermediate Java + Bedrock

Produces: Ender pearls, obsidian, crying obsidian, quartz, string, potions of Fire Resistance and Soul Speed books - for gold

Quick answer: Drop gold ingots to an adult piglin and it throws back loot after about 6 seconds: ender pearls at ~2.1% (2-4 per hit), obsidian and crying obsidian at ~8.5% each. Pair it with a gold farm and a piglin pen for infinite barter loops.

How it works

Materials

Build steps

  1. Trap 2-4 adult piglins in a small pen with a hopper floor - name-tag them so they never despawn.
  2. Feed ingots by hand first to see the rhythm: toss, wait ~6 seconds, catch the loot.
  3. Automate the feed: dispensers on a slow clock dropping ingots in front of the piglins.
  4. Wire a gold farm (zombified piglin farm on the Nether roof is the classic) into the dispenser line.
  5. Collect from the hoppers and sort: pearls and Soul Speed books to the vault, gravel and blackstone to the bulk chest.
  6. Keep one gold piece on your body whenever you work the farm.

Output depends on the design, the version and how much of it you build, so we do not quote an hourly figure. Build the layout below, time it for a few minutes in your own world and scale from there.
