How to Get Sea Pickles in Minecraft
Guide Java Bedrock
Quick answer: Sea pickles generate on top of coral blocks on the bottom of warm oceans (1 in 6 chance per chunk, colonies of 1 to 4). Break them by hand, or buy 1 from a wandering trader for 2 emeralds. Bone meal on an underwater sea pickle on a living coral block grows more of them.
What you need
- Bone meal (optional)
- Emeralds (for trading)
Step by step
- Go to a warm ocean and look on top of coral blocks in coral reefs. Colonies hold 1 to 4 pickles.
- Break them with any tool or your hand. A colony drops as many pickles as it has (1 to 4).
- Or trade with a wandering trader: 1 sea pickle for 2 emeralds.
- To grow more, plant them underwater on a living coral block and use bone meal. The colony grows, and living coral blocks within 2 blocks can generate 1-3 new pickles.
- Place up to four per block. Underwater they glow.
Java vs Bedrock
In Bedrock Edition sea pickles can only be placed on complete blocks, and a killed wandering trader showing one has an 8.5% chance (+1% per Looting level) to drop 1 if you hold an emerald.
Versions: Sea pickles can also be found as decorative blocks in desert village houses.
