How to Make Smooth Stone in Minecraft
Guide Java Bedrock
Quick answer: Smelt stone in a furnace to get smooth stone. Stone itself comes from smelting cobblestone. Mine it with a pickaxe, or it drops nothing. It is renewable and stacks to 64.
What you need
- Cobblestone
- Furnace and fuel
- Any pickaxe
Step by step
- Get cobblestone by mining stone with a pickaxe.
- Smelt the cobblestone in a furnace to get stone.
- Smelt the stone again to get smooth stone. That is two smelting passes from cobblestone.
- Mine smooth stone with a pickaxe to collect it. Without a pickaxe it drops nothing.
- Or find it in villages: it generates in the butcher's house of plains, savanna and snowy plains villages as slabs and blocks, and a mason's chest can hold it (20.8% of its loot).
- Use it: 3 smooth stone in a row make 6 smooth stone slabs (the stonecutter also makes slabs). A blast furnace takes 5 iron ingots, 1 furnace and 3 smooth stone.
Java vs Bedrock
