- Fortune boosts it: Fortune III averages 8.8 shards (up to 16); Silk Touch drops the cluster block itself instead
- Clusters regrow on budding amethyst blocks - leave them and come back for a renewable farm
Uses
- Craft a spyglass (2 copper ingots + 1 shard), tinted glass (4 shards + glass), blocks of amethyst and calibrated sculk sensors
- Duplicate allays: give a shard to an allay dancing at a jukebox and it splits into two (5 minute cooldown)
- Smithing material: any armor trim applied with amethyst gives the purple crystal trim color

Renewable: budding amethyst keeps growing new clusters in place.
