Beacon
Material Stack: 64 Since 1.4.2 (Pretty Scary Update)
Quick answer: Craft 5 glass + 1 nether star + 3 obsidian - kill the wither first.
How to get it
- Craft 5 glass + 1 nether star + 3 obsidian - kill the wither first
- The wither fight is the whole price of admission: 3 wither skeleton skulls plus soul sand
- Mine it back with anything: beacons always drop themselves
Uses
- Build a pyramid of iron, gold, diamond, emerald or netherite blocks: 1-4 layers
- Choose powers: Speed, Haste, Resistance, Jump Boost, Strength - plus Regeneration at max level
- The beam marks your base from miles away, and stained glass tints it any color
- Haste II plus efficiency V insta-mines stone: the endgame mining setup
Renewability
Renewable: wither skeleton farms make beacons repeatable.
Java vs Bedrock
