Cake
Material Stack: 1 Since Beta 1.2
Quick answer: Craft 3 milk buckets on top, 2 sugar + 1 egg in the middle, 3 wheat on the bottom.
How to get it
- Craft 3 milk buckets on top, 2 sugar + 1 egg in the middle, 3 wheat on the bottom
- The empty buckets come back after crafting (they stay in the grid on Java, move to your inventory on Bedrock)
- Buy one from expert-level farmer villagers for emeralds
Uses
- Place it on a solid block first - cake cannot be eaten from the hotbar. Each cake has 7 slices, 2 hunger per slice (14 total)
- No eating animation: restore hunger instantly while running or fighting
- Share it: several players can eat from the same placed cake, and pandas pick up dropped cakes
- Put a candle on a placed cake to make a birthday cake; a comparator reads a cake and outputs a signal that shrinks per slice
Renewability
Renewable: milk from cows, sugar from cane, eggs from chickens, wheat from farms.
Java vs Bedrock
Identical recipe and hunger values in Java and Bedrock; only the leftover-bucket behavior differs (grid vs inventory).
