Compass

Material Stack: 64 Since Alpha v1.1.0

How to get it

• Craft 4 iron ingots around 1 redstone dust
• Loot shipwreck, village and stronghold chests
• Buy one from cartographer villagers or loot ancient city chests

Uses

• Points back to your world spawn - the original 'how do I get home' answer
• Use it on a lodestone and it locks to that spot instead, anywhere in any dimension
• Craft maps, and craft the recovery compass with 8 echo shards to find your death point
• Trade them to cartographers when your chest overflows

Renewability

Renewable: iron and redstone farms make compasses craftable forever.

Java vs Bedrock

Identical in Java and Bedrock.
