Furnace
Material Stack: 64 Since Indev 0.31
Quick answer: Craft 8 cobblestone in a ring - day one, right after the pickaxe.
How to get it
- Craft 8 cobblestone in a ring - day one, right after the pickaxe
- Steal one from village weaponsmiths in plains and desert villages
- Mine it with any pickaxe: without one it breaks and drops nothing
Uses
- Smelt ores into ingots, sand into glass, logs into charcoal
- Cook food: raw chicken stops being a gamble and becomes dinner
- Smelting stores XP in the furnace - pull one item and collect it all at once
- Upgrade later: blast furnaces smelt ores twice as fast, smokers cook food twice as fast
Renewability
Renewable: cobblestone generators make furnaces infinite.
