Lava Bucket
Material Stack: 1 Since Infdev (June 2010)
Quick answer: Use an empty bucket on a lava source block - surface pools and the Nether are full of them.
How to get it
- Use an empty bucket on a lava source block - surface pools and the Nether are full of them
- In the Nether, lava lakes are everywhere; in the Overworld, look below Y=10 or in caves
- Empty a lava cauldron if you built one as a trash incinerator
Uses
- The best fuel in the game: one lava bucket smelts 100 items in a furnace
- Make obsidian with water, and build cobblestone generators with water and lava flows
- Defensive moats and item incinerators for the hoarder in you
- Carry light and warmth in a bucket - just do not pour it on your wooden roof
Renewability
Renewable via lava farms: pointed dripstone over a lava source refills cauldrons.
