The story
The third pillar of the Beta 1.3 golden age of seeds, remembered alongside gargamel and 404 in every classic-seed thread. 'Glacier' spawned players in a dramatic frozen world of towering ice-covered mountains and frozen lakes - the go-to showcase for how extreme old-school terrain could get, and a favorite for epic builds on impossible icy cliffs.
Notes
- Capital G matters: enter 'Glacier' exactly, seeds are case-sensitive
- Load in Beta 1.3 through 1.7.3 for the original frozen terrain
- A staple of retro-Minecraft modpacks that recreate the beta terrain generator
- Perfect time capsule for seeing how far world generation has evolved since 2011
- The wiki also lists the Beta 1.3_01 PC Gamer demo seed 'glacier' in all lowercase, a different world from the famous capital-G 'Glacier'
