How to find it
- Generates underground in any Overworld biome between Y=-58 and Y=30; each chunk has a 1/24 chance to attempt one
- Look for the smooth basalt outer layer with calcite under it
- /locate structure minecraft:amethyst_geode
Loot
- Amethyst cluster: 4 shards with a pickaxe; any tool with Silk Touch drops the cluster or bud itself
- Amethyst buds drop nothing without Silk Touch; only fully grown clusters drop shards
- Amethyst blocks, smooth basalt and calcite
Dangers
- Budding amethyst makes up 8.3% of the inner layer and grows buds
Tips
- A bud placed on budding amethyst grows through small, medium and large stages into a cluster; an unobstructed face takes about 2 hours to fully regrow on average.
