Nether Fortress
Nether
How to find it
- Generates in all Nether biomes; the Nether is split into regions where either a fortress or a bastion remnant generates
- Look for dark nether brick bridges over lava seas
- /locate structure minecraft:fortress
Loot
- Nether wart growing beside stairways
- Blaze spawners: blaze rods
- Corridor chests (1/3 chance at each corridor turn): saddles, golden and iron horse armor, gold ingots, diamonds, flint and steel, golden swords
Dangers
- Fortresses are the only place wither skeletons and blazes spawn
- Blazes set you on fire from range
- One wrong step off a bridge into lava ends many runs
Tips
- Fortresses use their own mob list; surrounding soul sand valley or warped forest raises spawn rates (Java).
- Light up the fortress to find the spawn spots; glass panes or iron bars keep mobs still. Source: minecraft.wiki Nether Fortress.
