Bamboo Jungle
Overworld (surface)
A jungle variant added in 1.14 (Village & Pillage) where bamboo grows in dense thickets between large jungle trees. The best biome to find pandas - they are much more common here than anywhere else, especially in Java.
Resources
- Bamboo in massive quantities: fuel, scaffolding, and panda food
- Podzol under the giant trees (no silk touch needed)
- Melons, vines and jungle wood
- Jungle pyramids (Java only) with their arrow traps and two loot chests
Mobs
- Pandas - far more common here; in Java they are MUCH more common
- Parrots, ocelots and standard jungle spawns
- Hostile mobs at night under the thick canopy
Structures
- Jungle pyramids (Java only - they do not generate in bamboo jungles in Bedrock)
- Abandoned camps sometimes generate here
- No villages or pillager outposts
Why go
- The fastest bamboo farm start in the game: one visit fills chests
- The most reliable panda hunting ground, including brown pandas with luck
- Scaffolding unlocks easy vertical building
Tips
- Breeding pandas here is easy: Java needs just 1 bamboo plant nearby, Bedrock needs 8 within 5 blocks - and bamboo is everywhere.
- Bring shears for vines and an axe for the podzol layer.
- In Java, watch for the pyramid's tripwire arrows: disarm the trap before grabbing the chests.
- Bamboo grows up to 16 blocks: replant a few at home and you never return.
