Dappled Forest
Overworld (forest)
Cold autumn forest of poplar trees in red, orange and yellow, added in 26.3 (Wilderness Bound). Orange grass, red shrubs, shelf mushrooms on every poplar, fallen trunks and abandoned camps.

Resources
- Poplar logs and saplings: the first wood family with three leaf colors (red, orange, yellow) on one tree type
- Red shrubs and shelf mushrooms (new decorative plants)
- Leaf litter and coarse dirt for path building
- Abandoned camps with straw beds, cushions and explorer maps
Mobs
- Cold variants of chickens, pigs and cows
- Foxes and rabbits
- Standard hostile mobs at night; in Bedrock the denser canopy can let them spawn in daytime
Structures
- Abandoned Camp (usually generates with a poplar tree)
Why go
- Poplar wood: a full new building set with autumn tones
- Abandoned camps: easy early loot and explorer maps to trial chambers and ancient cities
- One of the most photogenic Overworld biomes for base building
Tips
- Dappled forests generate in cold, dry regions with high weirdness: look for them bordering plains, ice spikes and cherry groves, never next to other forest biomes.
- Shear poplar leaves of each color: the three leaf variants drop separately for decorating.
- Check every abandoned camp chest: the explorer maps can chain you to more camps and to major structures.
- Fallen poplar trunks are free logs without chopping.
