Pale Garden
Overworld (surface)
A rare, eerie variant of the dark forest, added in 1.21.4 (Winter Drop). Desaturated gray-green pale oaks, pale moss carpets and eyeblossoms - and creaking hearts hidden in the trees that spawn creakings at night.

Resources
- Pale oak logs, leaves and saplings - a full pale wood building set
- Pale moss blocks, pale moss carpet and pale hanging moss
- Eyeblossoms: open at night, closed by day; craft into orange or gray dye and suspicious stew
- Creaking hearts inside some pale oaks - silk touch to take one home and grow your own creaking setup
Mobs
- Creakings (spawned by creaking hearts at night; unkillable while the heart lives, freeze when looked at)
- Regular passive mobs do not spawn here
- Standard hostile mobs at night
Structures
- Woodland mansions can generate inside pale gardens
- Abandoned camps sometimes generate here (Java 26.3)
Why go
- The only source of pale oak wood, pale moss and eyeblossoms
- The only place to find creaking hearts and fight creakings
- A uniquely eerie building palette: everything is desaturated, even the water and sky
Tips
- Find it adjacent to dark forests on plateaus in medium-temperature, high-humidity regions - borders meadows and groves often.
- At night, look AT a creaking to freeze it, then find and break its creaking heart (it emits particles pointing to the tree).
- Bring silk touch: a mined creaking heart placed between two pale oak logs creates creakings at your base.
- Villages can touch pale gardens because they border meadows - handy for a base near the biome.
