Minecraft /loot command
Java EditionBedrock EditionSince Java 1.14 (18w43a) / Bedrock 1.18.10
Quick answer: Generates loot table drops and gives, inserts or spawns them where you choose. Syntax:
loot <give|insert|spawn|replace> ... <fish|loot|kill|mine> .../loot rolls any loot table - mob drops, chest loot, fishing, block drops - and sends the result to a player, a container, the world, or an item slot. Sources include kill (an entity's drops), loot (a named loot table), fish (fishing loot at a spot) and mine (what a block would drop). It powers custom chests, random rewards and data pack loot.
Syntax
| Edition | Syntax |

| Bedrock | loot spawn <position: x y z> <kill <entity: target>|loot <loot_table: string>> [<tool>|mainhand|offhand] |
Targets / arguments: Players, containers, world positions or item slots. Requires: Cheats enabled / operator level 2 (Java), 1 (Bedrock).

Tips
- Loot tables live under minecraft:loot_tables - explore vanilla tables for ideas.
- Use /loot to test your data pack's custom loot tables instantly.
- The mine source respects the tool you specify, so silk touch drops work.
