Bane of Arthropods
Max level VJavaBedrock
Quick answer: Adds 2.5 damage per level against arthropods (bees, cave spiders, endermites, silverfish, spiders) and inflicts Slowness IV on them for 1 to 1.5 seconds at level I, up to 3.5 seconds at level V. In Bedrock the damage is rounded down.
Applies to
Swords and spears at the enchanting table; axes and maces by anvil in Java, directly in Bedrock.
How to get Bane of Arthropods
- Enchanting table
- Enchanted books from fishing, librarian villagers and structure loot
- Combine in an anvil
Best uses
Useful against spider-heavy places such as mineshafts with cave spiders. It does nothing against other mobs, so most players keep Sharpness.
Incompatible with
Sharpness, Smite, Density (mace), Breach (mace), Impaling - an item can only hold one of these.
