Skip river valleys and high mountains: the biome never generates directly under them - look between rivers or under hilltops instead.
The surface tell: sulfur springs - small yellow-green springs that occasionally generate on the surface - mark sulfur caves directly below. Dig straight down from one (safely, with stairs).
Depth: they sit at the same underground level as lush caves and dripstone caves, but smaller and more fragmented - explore connecting caves if the first pocket is tiny.
Rare surface variant: at weirdness below -1.25 sulfur caves can reach the surface, or leak into open ravines - a green-tinted cave mouth is worth checking.
Confirm the biome: sulfur and cinnabar layers in roughly equal amounts, acid-green sulfur pools, sulfur spikes, a green sky fog, sulfur cubes and cave spiders.
Handle potent sulfur carefully: it sits at the bottom of sulfur pools and releases noxious gas (white bubbles) that inflicts Nausea on contact - keep your distance or bring milk.
