How to Make a Cobblestone Wall in Minecraft
Guide Java Bedrock
What you need
- 6 cobblestone for 6 walls
- Crafting table OR stonecutter
- Any pickaxe
Step by step
- Collect six cobblestone blocks for the crafting-table recipe.
- Open a crafting table and fill two horizontal rows with cobblestone, three blocks per row.
- Take six cobblestone walls. Leave the remaining row empty.
- For single walls, put one cobblestone in a stonecutter and choose one cobblestone wall.
- Place walls next to each other to form a connected boundary. Use a fence gate where you want an opening you can close.
- Move placed walls with any pickaxe. Mining without a pickaxe gives no drop.
Java vs Bedrock
The crafting and cobblestone stonecutter recipes work in Java and Bedrock. Both routes give one wall per block. Mossy cobblestone produces the mossy wall variant rather than a plain cobblestone wall.

Frequently asked questions
Does a stonecutter save cobblestone for walls?
No. Both recipes give one wall per block. The stonecutter lets you make one wall instead of a batch of six.
Can I make the recipe in my inventory?
No. The two rows of three blocks need a crafting table. A stonecutter is the alternative.
Do I need Silk Touch to collect a wall?
No. Any pickaxe collects a cobblestone wall without Silk Touch.
