Step by step

Get 2 flint (break gravel - 10% drop chance, or shovel it with Fortune) and 4 planks of any wood.
Craft the table: 2 flint across the top, 4 planks filling the left and middle columns of the two rows below.
Or take one from a village: fletching tables generate in fletcher houses and always drop themselves when broken - axe is fastest.
Know the catch: the fletching table has no player interface. Mojang confirmed in 2019 its functionality would come in a later update - it's still waiting.
Use it for what it does: place it near an unemployed villager and they become a fletcher, claiming the table as their job site.
Trade archery gear: fletchers buy your sticks, flint, string, feathers and tripwire hooks, and sell bows, crossbows, arrows and tipped arrows - the master sells enchanted bows and crossbows.
Fuel value: in a pinch, a fletching table smelts 1.5 items in a furnace, like other wooden job blocks.

Java vs Bedrock
