How to Make Tuff Stairs in Minecraft

Guide Java Bedrock

Quick answer: Put 6 tuff blocks in a crafting table (one block in the top-left slot, two down the left side of the middle row and three across the bottom row) to make four stairs. A stonecutter also works: one stair per tuff block.

What you need

Step by step

  1. Collect tuff blocks.
  2. Open a crafting table and place one block in the top-left slot, two down the left side of the middle row and three across the bottom row.
  3. Take four stairs. One craft uses 6 blocks.
  4. To use a stonecutter, put one tuff block in it and choose the tuff stairs output.
  5. Mine placed tuff stairs with a pickaxe to get them back. Without a pickaxe they drop nothing.

Java vs Bedrock

The crafting recipe and the stonecutter route both exist for this block.
