Armadillo Scute
Material Stack: 64 Since 1.20.5 (Armadillo & Wolf Armor)
Quick answer: Armadillos drop one scute naturally every 5-10 minutes - no killing needed.
How to get it
- Armadillos drop one scute naturally every 5-10 minutes - no killing needed
- Brush an armadillo with the brush tool to make it drop a scute on demand (costs 16 brush durability)
- Find armadillos in savanna and badlands biomes; they roll up when threatened, so approach slowly
Uses
- Craft wolf armor: 6 armadillo scutes in a helmet-like pattern
- Repair wolf armor in the field: use a scute directly on the armored wolf to restore 8 durability
- Repair wolf armor in an anvil: each scute restores 16 durability
Renewability
Yes: armadillos shed scutes forever and never run out.
Java vs Bedrock
Same in both editions. A fresh unenchanted brush yields 4 scutes from brushing in Java and 5 in Bedrock (64 vs 65 brush durability).
