Material Stack: 64 Since 1.17 (Caves & Cliffs)
Quick answer: Kill glow squids in dark underwater caves and aquifers - they drop 1-3 glow ink sacs, more with Looting.
How to get it
- Kill glow squids in dark underwater caves and aquifers - they drop 1-3 glow ink sacs, more with Looting
- Look for the glow: their shimmering trail is visible from far away in dark water
- Glow squid spawns cluster below Y=30, so caving trips double as ink runs
Uses
- Click a sign or hanging sign with one to make the text glow in the dark, with a colored outline
- Craft glow item frames: an item frame + a glow ink sac lights up whatever you display
- Remove the glow from a sign with a normal ink sac if you change your mind
Renewability
Renewable: glow squids keep spawning in dark water below Y=30.
