Lapis Lazuli

Material Stack: 64 Since Beta 1.2

How to get it

• Mine lapis ore with a stone pickaxe or better: 4-9 lapis per block, up to 36 with Fortune III - most common around Y=-2
• Smelt lapis or deepslate lapis ore (0.2 XP each), or craft a lapis block back into 9
• Buy 1 for 1 emerald from novice-level cleric villagers - the only renewable source

Uses

• Enchanting fuel: the enchanting table costs 1-3 lapis per enchant (top option costs 3)
• Craft blue dye for wool, glass, terracotta, banners and blue concrete
• Store it as lapis blocks (9 lapis each) - and decorate with them
• Use it as a blue armor trim material

Renewability

Semi-renewable: ore is finite, but cleric trading makes lapis infinite.
