How to find Guardian
In and around ocean monuments - the only place they spawn.
Spawn conditions: Only in ocean monuments, in water (flowing or still). In Java they spawn less often in open-sky water than in covered areas; in Bedrock they use 25 fixed spawn columns.

How to kill Guardian
Break line of sight behind a pillar: its laser charges slowly. Guardians inflict retaliatory damage when you hit them in melee, so mind the spikes. Fight out of water or with Respiration and Depth Strider.
Behavior
Swims around attacking players, squid, glow squid and axolotls with a slow-charging laser. Spikes extend when it is not swimming. Survives out of water, hopping erratically. Source: minecraft.wiki Guardian.
Taming and breeding
Cannot be tamed or bred. Axolotls attack guardians and help you raid monuments.
