How to find it
- Generates in the deep dark biome around Y=-52, most often under mountains (jagged peaks, windswept hills)
- Dig down from a mountain or find a deep cave that reaches deepslate levels
- /locate structure minecraft:ancient_city with cheats on
Loot
- Echo shards (craft the recovery compass - points to your last death spot)
- Swift Sneak enchanted books (only source in the game)
- Enchanted golden apples, disc fragments (Music Disc 5), sculk catalysts
- Reinforced deepslate frame in the center: unbreakable, purely decorative (no hidden portal)
Dangers
- Sculk sensors hear you walk, place and break blocks - sculk shriekers summon the Warden on the fourth warning
- The Warden: 500 HP, sonic boom attack that goes through walls and armor. You are not meant to fight it
- Darkness effect pulses whenever shriekers trigger
Tips
- Bring stacks of wool: walking on wool is silent, and you can wall off sensors before looting a chest.
- Break every shrieker you can reach AFTER its fourth-scream cooldown resets - a shrieker can only summon one Warden per 4 screams.
- If the Warden spawns: stand still, let it sniff past, and leave the way you came. It digs back down after 60 calm seconds.
