How to get War Pigs

Find a Bastion Remnant in the Nether (any biome except Basalt Deltas) while wearing a piece of gold armor.
Locate a chest that generated naturally inside the bastion. Bridges and housing units have exposed chests; the treasure room chests sit under the lava.
Opening or breaking chests (and mining gold) angers nearby Piglins even if you wear gold. Clear them first, or pillar up out of reach.
Open the chest: the advancement triggers on the first chest opened in a bastion.

Tips

The safe classic: break the blocks under a chest and place a hopper feeding into another chest below, then loot without ever opening it. Piglin Brutes do not care about your gold armor, so kill or block them off before looting the treasure room.
