Overworld (mountain)
The signature 1.18 mountain summit: bare stone peaks under a layer of snow blocks, with jagged ridgelines.
Resources
- Emerald ore - generates only in mountain biomes and windswept hills, and is more common at altitude
- Infested stone (silverfish) hiding among the regular stone
- Coal and iron ore exposed on the cliff faces
- Snow and snow blocks in bulk
- Goats - they spawn frequently here
Mobs
- Goats - they drop goat horns when they ram solid blocks
- Standard hostile mobs at night
- Glow squid in caves, bats
Structures

Why go
- Emerald hunting: strip the upper peak, where emerald ore generates most often - the same goes for other mountain biomes and windswept hills.
- Goat horns: trick a goat into ramming a tree or stone block.
- Snow farms and some of the best building scenery in the game, often ringing a meadow or cherry grove valley.
Tips
- Steep drops are the real killer here - carry a water bucket or elytra.
- Silverfish infest the stone: mine suspect blocks with care or a Silk Touch pickaxe (infested stone breaks instantly with anything).
