Meadow
Overworld (surface)
A high-altitude grassland added in 1.18 (Caves & Cliffs Part II): turquoise grass on mountain slopes and plateaus, painted with huge gradient patches of a single flower type. Home of sheep, donkeys and rabbits - and the only mountain biome where villages generate.

Resources
- Flowers in giant single-type patches: dyes by the chest
- Wildflowers and tall grass for bonemeal
- Emerald ore (mountain biome) plus common coal and iron
- Bee nests on the rare lone oaks and birches - every meadow tree has one
Mobs
- Sheep, donkeys and rabbits
- Bees from the tree nests
- Pillager patrols near outposts; hostile mobs at night
Structures
- Plains villages - the ONLY mountain biome that gets them
- Pillager outposts
- Abandoned camps sometimes generate here
Why go
- The prettiest village locations in the game: flowers, altitude, flat plateaus
- Easy donkey taming for portable chests
- A flower farm without building anything: each patch is one color
Tips
- Walk the plateau edges at dawn: village + meadow + mountain views is the classic starter-base combo.
- Every lone tree has a bee nest: mark them for a honey farm later.
- Emerald ore generates at higher altitude in meadows - branch mine under the peaks, not at sea level.
- Sugar cane and pumpkin patches never generate here in Java: grab those elsewhere.
