Minecraft /fillbiome command
Java EditionSince Java 1.19.3 (22w46a)
Quick answer: Changes the biome of a 3D region, replacing grass color, weather and mob spawns. Syntax:
fillbiome <from> <to> <biome> [replace <filter>]/fillbiome rewrites the biome data of a region without touching blocks. Biomes are stored in 4x4x4-block cells, so edges snap to that grid. The change affects grass and sky color, snow and rain, and which mobs spawn - a snowy patch in the plains or a warm ocean farm become possible. The replace variant only changes cells of one specific biome.
Syntax
| Edition | Syntax |
|---|---|
| Java | fillbiome <from> <to> <biome> [replace <filter>] |
| Bedrock | (Java Edition only) |
Targets / arguments: Biome cells inside the given region. Requires: Cheats enabled / operator level 2.
Examples
/fillbiome ~-16 ~-16 ~-16 ~16 ~16 ~16 minecraft:snowy_plainsTurn the area around you into snowy plains
/fillbiome 0 60 0 32 80 32 minecraft:warm_oceanMake a region behave like warm ocean

Tips
- Changes may need a relog or chunk reload to show colors client-side.
- Biome changes affect mob spawning: make a mushroom fields moat to stop hostile spawns.
- Bedrock Edition has no /fillbiome.
