How to Make a Mud Brick Wall in Minecraft
Guide Java Bedrock
What you need
- 6 mud bricks blocks for 6 walls
- Crafting table for the six-block recipe
- Or 1 mud bricks block with a stonecutter
- Pickaxe to recover placed walls
Step by step
- Get mud bricks. Four packed mud in a 2×2 crafting square make four mud bricks blocks.
- Gather six mud bricks blocks for the crafting-table recipe.
- Fill two horizontal rows of the crafting table with the six blocks. Take six mud brick walls.
- For a single wall, put one mud bricks block in a stonecutter and select mud brick wall. This gives one wall.
- Place the walls as borders or decorative supports. Adjacent wall blocks connect together.
- Mine placed walls with any pickaxe to recover them. Breaking them by hand drops nothing.
Java vs Bedrock
The crafting and stonecutter recipes work in Java and Bedrock. Both give one wall per mud bricks block. Ordinary mud and packed mud must first be turned into mud bricks.

Frequently asked questions
Can I craft walls directly from packed mud?
No. First craft packed mud into mud bricks, then use those blocks for the wall recipe.
Is the stonecutter more efficient?
The yield is the same: one wall per block. It is convenient when you need fewer than six walls.
Why does my inventory grid not fit the recipe?
The six-block recipe needs a 3×3 crafting table. A stonecutter is the alternative for one block at a time.
