Mason Trades in Minecraft: Every Trade by Level
Guide Java Bedrock
What you need
- A stonecutter and an unemployed villager
- A cobblestone generator with a smelting setup for the stone trade
- Clay (rivers, lush caves) and nether quartz for the other buy offers
Step by step
- Novice: buys 10 clay balls for 1 emerald; sells 10 bricks for 1 emerald.
- Apprentice: buys 20 stone for 1 emerald; sells 4 chiseled stone bricks for 1 emerald - the signature trade, a stone generator makes it infinite.
- Journeyman: buys 16 granite, andesite or diorite for 1 emerald; sells 4 dripstone blocks or 4 polished granite, andesite or diorite for 1 emerald.
- Expert: buys 12 nether quartz for 1 emerald; sells any-color terracotta or glazed terracotta for 1 emerald each.
- Master: sells quartz pillars and blocks of quartz for 1 emerald each - decorative quartz without mining the Nether.
- Best emerald route: a cobblestone generator plus an auto-smelter converts fuel into emeralds through the apprentice stone trade, fully AFK.
- Builder note: the expert terracotta trades skip the smelting and dyeing pipeline entirely - buy colors straight for big builds.
- Level the mason with clay and stone, keep the stonecutter reachable, and cure it for cheaper quartz and terracotta.
Java vs Bedrock
The mason is the building profession: raw stone and clay in, bricks, terracotta, quartz and polished stone out - a builder's best friend.
Versions: Trade amounts are the same on Java and Bedrock, with small offer-probability differences. Verified against the current trading table as of 26.x.
