- While Trial Omen is active, trial spawners near you turn into ominous trial spawners - harder mobs, better rewards
- Ominous trial spawners eject ominous trial keys as their reward (30% chance) alongside the normal loot
Uses
- Unlocks ominous vaults, the rare vault variant inside trial chambers - you must still have Trial Omen active when you open it
- Ominous vault loot includes the heavy core (7.5% chance - the only source for the mace), flow and guster banner patterns, flow armor trim, enchanted golden apples and more
- Each ominous vault opens once per player per world (it forgets you after 128 other players open it)
Renewability
Yes: ominous bottles and trial chambers keep producing ominous events, so keys keep flowing.
Java vs Bedrock
Identical in both editions. Java-only quirk (bug MC-268183): a renamed ominous trial key cannot open a standard ominous vault.
