How to find Wither
Spawned by the player anywhere: 4 soul sand or soul soil in a T shape with 3 wither skeleton skulls on top.
Spawn conditions: Player-built: 4 soul sand or soul soil blocks in a T, then 3 wither skeleton skulls on top of the three upper blocks, the last block placed being a skull.

How to kill Wither
Plan an arena before you build: it explodes (power 7) 11 seconds after spawning, and below half health it becomes immune to some projectiles such as arrows. Fight it in melee with a Smite sword. It always drops a Nether star.
Behavior
Invulnerable for 11 seconds after spawning, then explodes. It flies and shoots explosive blue and black skulls that inflict the Wither effect. Immune to fire, lava, drowning and freezing; harmed by Instant Health and Smite. Drops 50 XP (Java: only if killed by a player or tamed wolf). Source: minecraft.wiki Wither.
