How to find Zombie Horse

Rare night and thunderstorm spawns in plains, sunflower plains, snowy plains, savanna, savanna plateau and windswept savanna (ice spikes too on Bedrock) - always ridden by a zombie horseman with an iron spear. No spawn egg in Survival; also summonable with /summon.

Spawn conditions: Spawns at night or during thunderstorms in plains-family biomes, always with a zombie horseman on its back wielding an iron spear. Once the rider dies or dismounts, the horse is passive and can be tamed by simply mounting it repeatedly, like a normal horse.

How to kill Zombie Horse

It fights back only through its zombie rider. Kill the horseman and the horse turns passive - so the real question is why kill it: it drops nothing but a little experience. Separate the pair and tame the horse instead.

Behavior

An undead horse that does not burn in sunlight and never needs feeding. Tamed ones accept a saddle and horse armor, can be leashed when not ridden, and eat red mushrooms. Slightly eerie green skin, zero downside versus a regular horse - a flex mount.

Taming and breeding

Tame it after removing the zombie rider: mount until hearts appear, then saddle it. Cannot be bred - there is no foal recipe for the undead.
