How to get Little Sniffs

Brush suspicious sand in warm ocean ruins until you find a sniffer egg.
Place the egg on the ground to hatch a snifflet; it hatches about twice as fast on a moss block.
Let the snifflet grow into an adult sniffer, which digs up torchflower seeds and pitcher pods from the ground.
Breed two adult sniffers with torchflower seeds to get another egg, hatch it, and feed torchflower seeds to the new snifflet.

Tips

Your first snifflet cannot be fed (you have no seeds yet), so the real chain is: egg, adult, seeds, breeding, second egg, then feed the baby. Feeding also speeds up its growth.
