How to get Not Quite "Nine" Lives

  1. Craft a respawn anchor: 6 crying obsidian (see the Who is Cutting Onions? guide) and 3 glowstone blocks.
  2. Place it in the Nether. It only works there: using it in the Overworld or the End makes it explode.
  3. Charge it by using glowstone blocks on it: each block adds one charge, up to 4.
  4. The fourth glowstone block, filling it to maximum charge, completes the advancement.

Tips

Each respawn consumes one charge, so a full anchor revives you four times before needing more glowstone. A charged anchor also powers redstone contraptions: it outputs a comparator signal based on its charge level.
