How to get Who is Cutting Onions?

1. Crying obsidian is the purple-glowing obsidian variant. There are two ways to get it.
2. Barter with piglins: throw gold ingots at adult piglins and each barter has about an 8.5% chance to return 1-3 crying obsidian.
3. Or find it: ruined portals generate with crying obsidian blocks, and their chests (and bastion remnant chests) can hold it.
4. Mine it with a diamond or netherite pickaxe and pick it up. Having it in your inventory completes the advancement.

Tips

Crying obsidian can't build a nether portal. Save 6 blocks for a respawn anchor, its main use, and the next step in this chain: charging one completes Not Quite "Nine" Lives.
