How to get When the Squad Hops into Town

  1. Craft leads from string and a slimeball (4 string plus 1 slimeball makes 2 leads).
  2. Get the orange temperate frog: it grows in mild biomes like swamps, rivers and plains.
  3. Get the white warm frog: move a bucket of tadpole to a hot biome (desert, jungle, badlands, savanna) and let it grow up there.
  4. Get the green cold frog: grow a tadpole in a cold biome (snowy plains, snowy taiga, snowy slopes).
  5. Leash each of the three variants at least once. They do not need to be leashed at the same time.

Tips

The variant is decided by the biome where the tadpole grows into a frog, not where it hatched, so buckets of tadpoles make this easy. Frogs follow slimeballs, which helps steer them into a pen before leashing.
