Birch Forest
Overworld (surface)
A calm woodland of pure birch trees - no oaks, no wolves - carpeted with wildflower patches, rose bushes, lilacs, peonies and lilies of the valley. Easy wood, easy dyes, and lush caves often hiding underneath thanks to the biome's high humidity.

Resources
- Birch logs in bulk: dense trees, uniform height, fast chopping
- Wildflowers, lilacs, peonies, rose bushes and lilies of the valley for dyes
- Bee nests on 0.2% of birches (Java) - 0.035% in Bedrock
- Lush caves can generate below (unless the biome is far from the ocean), with glow berries and clay
Mobs
- Sheep, pigs, cows and chickens
- Bees from the rare nests
- No wolves here - standard hostile mobs at night
Structures
- Abandoned camps sometimes generate here
- No villages or pillager outposts - rivers usually split it from old growth birch forests
Why go
- Easy early-game wood: dense birch trees with straight trunks
- Dye collection without farming: four flower types plus wildflowers in one walk
- A scenic base spot with a lush cave basement already dug by the world generator
Tips
- Bring shears: lilac, peony and rose bushes are two blocks tall and renewable via bonemeal.
- Mark any bee nest before chopping - in Java only 1 in 500 birches has one.
- Dig straight down carefully: lush caves under this biome mean open caverns near the surface.
- Wildflowers generate in patches here and in flower forests - stack them for bonemeal.
