How to Get Granite in Minecraft
Guide Java Bedrock
What you need
- Any pickaxe
- 1 diorite + 1 nether quartz for 1 granite (optional)
- 4 granite for 4 polished granite
- Stonecutter (optional)
Step by step
- Look for pink-brown granite patches among stone in the Overworld.
- Mine the granite with any pickaxe. Silk Touch is not needed; breaking it without a pickaxe gives no drop.
- For the crafting route, combine one diorite with one nether quartz anywhere in the crafting grid. Take one granite.
- Arrange four granite in a 2x2 square to craft four polished granite. No furnace or fuel is required.
- For a single polished block, put one granite in a stonecutter and choose polished granite.
- Use the stonecutter to make stairs or two slabs per block. Ordinary granite also makes walls; polished granite has no wall variant.
Java vs Bedrock
The mining, crafting and polishing routes work in Java and Bedrock. Both ordinary and polished granite need a pickaxe to drop. Polishing is crafting or stonecutting, not smelting.
