How to kill Tropical Fish

One hit kills it (3 health), but most players catch it alive with a water bucket instead - it is the classic aquarium fish, and the wandering trader sometimes sells buckets of tropical fish.

Behavior

Schools of up to 7 swim together, often against the current. Wild fish combine 2 shapes, 6 patterns and 15 colors; 22 varieties have proper names like Clownfish or Blue Tang. In Java, 90% of wild schools are one of those 22, the rest are random - 3,072 natural combinations in total. Bucket one to keep its exact pattern forever.

Taming and breeding

Cannot be tamed or bred. To collect a specific variety, bucket one straight out of a school - the bucket keeps its pattern and colors exactly.
